Any thoughts on which is better. I currently use VZ in NorCal. It is fair, there are many times where my phone doesn't ring only to have voicemail. When overseas I've borrowed GSM phones and they were more reliable. If you are a gsm fan, who is the best US carrier.

if you're goin with GSM you're gonna get the biggest network with Cingular. T-Mobile gives them a good run for their money in some areas, you'll have to check around for your specific location.
Cingular's also gonna offer you more features for free like rollover, M2M, and free nights and weekends (if you're willing to pay $7 extra you can start n/w at 7pm instead of 9). Plus they tend to get the newest phones before t-mobile.
