Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have this phone too. The size, materials, screen, and sharp looks are all great...

But's let's not kid ourselves - here's a few things it does NOT have:

1. MP3 Player
2. Expandable/removable memory
3. Headset jack (yes - I know it has Bluetooth - read on)
4. Decent battery life (Moto rated 2 hrs of talktime!?!?!?!)
5. A simple charging method - the mini-USB adaptor to power/charge the phone looks destined to be easily lost.

To me - this phone was clearly designed for LOOKS, not a moderate to heavy phone user. If you read the mobile-review.com review ( link is already posted several times on the message board), the battery life sucks on this thing. And the 1-2 hour talktime rating gets wors...

Your reading comprehension needs some work. It stated 3 hours of Moto rated talk time, not 2. Also the real world test indicated over 2 days if you talk for 1 hour a day and do something else (such as bluetooth) for 25 minutes each day.

I read it as 2.5 hours of use plus standby over a 2 day period.

The text in question: "According to the manufacturer the phone provides up to 200 hours in the standby mode and up to 3 hours in the talk mode. The field tests showed that the phoneó works a little bit more than 2 days in case of using the phone about 1 hour per day in the talk mode (MTS network) and up to 25 minutes of using other functions (mainly bluetooth). The time of full charging is less than 2 hours."

You're right, flanders - my mistake. I'll admit when I'm wrong - unlike others on this site.

It would have been easier if the review said 48 hours of standby with 2-2.5 hours of talktime, but you're right, I misread the info.

It's alarming that some of the other posts don't seem to care even IF the V3 did have horrible battery life - it's all about the looks. I can easily get 4 hours of talktime on my Moto v60, and I won't stand for compromising on batt life.

your BT200 only gets 1-2 hrs? Mine's outlasted the battery on my phone I don't know how many times. Are you keepin on all the time or puttin it in standby while you're not using it?

If you can stand not hearing your phone ring thru the headset you'll get a lot better battery life.

yes, that's all I get out of my BT200. I have the Moto v60 which doesn't have BT built in, so I have the BT200 with the BT receiver that plugs into the headset jack.

When I'm using the BT200, I usually turn off the headset to try to get as much battery life as I can. On a couple occasions, I've been on a conference call with a fully-charged BT200 headset, and have only been able to go for about 1.5 hours before getting a low battery warning.

I was at a trade show in April and talked to the GN Netcom rep (the parent company of Jabra), and was told they were addressing the short runtime issue with upcoming models. She also suggested the GN6110, but the headset has almost the look and approximate size of a hockey puck. I like the BT20...

wow...that's the same setup I'm running, a v60 with the BT 200 for non-bluetooth phones. You're right it's a VERY comfy headset, I usually forget I'm wearing it until someone points it out. I keep the earpiece off and in the cradle until I use it, and it's consistently outlasted the battery on my v60. Maybe I'm just lucky there.

I just have to say that this phone looks to be really sweet. I just have a few comments to add after some digging on the web:

1) V3 will play mp3 ringtones. Only 5mb of memory though. This should be good enough for most users.
3) Supposedly Motorola will be including a wired USB headset with every phone.
5) It looks like the little plastic USB thingy just changes the direction of the plug(maybe to get the chord out of the way?). It looks like the phone can still be charged even without this piece.

Looking at the dimensions, this phone is as tall and nearly as wide as a Star-tac. I like the thin (and the keypad is gorgeous), but it seems you are trading thin for wide and tall.

That's absolutely correct. I verified this with someone who was on the team that designed this phone. The little adapter in some photos is only for changing direction. It is not necessary for charging.
