Charge using PC?
So the charger that comes with this phone has a mini-usb connection on the other end of it. I was just wondering, if it's possible then to also charge the phone by plugging it in to my PC's USB port? I know USB devices do get powered through the USB connection itself, but not sure if that's enough power to charge the phone.
I tried plugging my phone in to my PC, which is connected through a USB hub, but it didn't work. I guess the question is, is it supposed to work?
Thanks.

I actually have the usb cable that came with my mpx200...I also plugged it into my PC and nothing happens. If the V3 is off, then the computer recognizes it as a storage device but there is no way to sync with the phone without the software...I think!?!??
I would also like to know if there is anyway around paying those people for the software as I have heard the software is relatively sub-standard.
Thanks for your advice!

I bought the V3 data cable and it charges the phone thru a USB port on my laptop.

You can usually pick up the Mobile Phone Tools on ebay for around $20.
I have not had any issues at all with mine, and have used it for the v400, v600 and my razr.
I do use it back-up contacts(I don't keep them on sim), transfer pics, mp3 ringtones I make and to sync my calander with Outlook.
I think it is actually pretty soild, make sure you follow install instructions and check for updates periodically.

Try using the right angle adaptor that came with the phone. Supposedly that makes a difference.

You know what? Using that right angle thing worked! How does that make it work? I don't get it... 🙂

Simple, since the Razr has a different power pin input than the mini usb plug data cable, the adapter likely crosses the power pins to the correct ones for the phone.

Mine charges with a straight non-adapted connection.

Yes, but the right angle is nice when talking on the phone and connected to a car charger.

Hello:
When I plug my phone into the computer using a USB cable, I get a message which says "need software"... I want to download photos from my phone to the computer. Is this PicBridge software? What other driver could be used? Anyone know if there is some other source for this software?
Thanks,
