Motorola RAZR V3

I have an unlocked Razr and I'm trying to setup my POP email account. I have followed all of the configurations posted on the many forums and it still doesn't work. I think my problem may be simple...I don't have Tzones. I normally have a sidekick, and Tzones isn't available with the sidekick data plan because it already has unlimited data on it. I thought that would be all I needed to conect and retrieve my email, but it still doesn't work. My question is this: Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve email WITHOUT tzones? Or do you have to have it? Thanks in advance
