How do I send mp3 files to my RAZR??

I have a black RAZR and would like to send some mp3 files to my phone to use as a ring tone. How do I do it?

You can upload MP3s directly to the phone just like you would the V710:

Make an account on vzwpix.com

Pick an MP3 you want to send, use an audio editing program to clip only a 30 second portion of it since the phone will only ring for 30 seconds. I use Audacity, it's free and generally easy to use. Sony SoundForge is excellent as it will downconvert to a lower bitrate and flatten the two stereo tracks and sum them into one mono track.

Save it as a new file as to not overwrite your original file. Save it as a 96kbps or 128kbps bitrate. Any higher and you're just wasting time and bandwidth.

Rename the file to a .mid instead of .mp3
Send the .mid file as an attachment to xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com (the xxxx's denotre your phone number, ...

Just learned that Motorola Mobile Phone Tools works GREAT for this.. Just d/l'd a few ringtones myself.. 🙂

And where did you get it or is there a place I can downlaod a trail version

I actually had a buddy send me the software he got with his phone. I'm using version 3.28.

I'm quite happy with it thusfar..
