Razr makes radio buzz?

caddy_girl1

I keep my phone plugged in at night on my dresser right next to my alarm clock radio. I keep waking up in the night, several times, because my radio starts buzzing loudly. This had never happened until I started using my new phone just this past weekend. Now that it's Monday and I'm at work again, my phone is sitting on my desk right next to my walkman radio. Now my walkman is doing a similar buzzing through the headphones.

Any ideas on why this is happening and how to make it stop?

Thanks!

It has something to do with the GSM network. I had several Verizon phones for years without the problem. Now, both my Cingular phones make nearby speakers buzz.

It's really a challenge to find a place to sit the phone at night so it's accessable but quiet.

I have the same problem, I have had my phone exchanged 3 times, and after a while it starts doing it again, I know its some kind of interference because I called Motorola and they told me so, they said when you get next to an electronic device and it makes a noise that means their is interference, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GSM NETWORK!!! I notice that other phones donโ€™t have this problem, like my Motorola V400, I think the razor is a bit delicate when it comes to interference it may not be as insolated as it should be. I also notice that other friends who have the same phone do not have this problem. Im wondering if its like my wireless internet causing interference or something?????????

My V400 did it, my V600 did it, and my Razr does it. Totally normal with GSM phones and non-magnetically sealed and cheaper speakers. Returning your phone or calling Moto. is a waste of time because there's nothing that can be done except for moving your phone further away from your speakers or getting a non GSM phone or getting some better speakers. Yes I know what I am talking about, I used to work at Moto. ๐Ÿ˜

Why is their a buzzing noise on my V3? Mr. Motorola Tech, when im out side like at a park or on the street (out side of my car) in a parking lot? Itโ€™s not all the time but it does come on and the other person who I am calling can hear it, even the warranty exchange person who I talk to heard it. as far as speakers I donโ€™t even have any speakers in my room and that is were I always hear it. Why donโ€™t my older phones have a buzzing noise? the noise im talking about is not the noise an electronic appliance makes when their is interference I am talking about the buzzing noise that one could hear come out of the speaker of the phone when one carries a conversation on the cell phone? ever experience that issue? why is it that of my other phones ne...

You said you had the "same problem" as Caddy_Girl1. The problems you're now describing are totally different, and are problems that I've personally never experienced in 15 months as a V3 owner. I don't know why you keep having the same problem with different phones, unless they just keep sending you back your same phone because the techs can't duplicate the problem.

Perhaps you didn't mean to be as aggressive as you came across, but I don't think RabidSquirrel deserved such a terse reply after trying to help you out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks bbbssport! ๐Ÿ™‚

As for the buzzing sound, I apologize, I thought you were talking about the phone causing other speakers around you to buzz or 'chirp'. Why people that you are talking to can hear a buzzing I have no idea. I have never experienced that problem and after you have replaced the phone and sent it in so many times I can only guess that the problem lies with some issue with your providers network or possibly a few of the towers in your area. As stated earlier, when you sent in your phone for repair and got it back within a week it's most likely because the techs could not duplicate the issue because they were using your phone on a different network without any issues.

If I'm understanding you correctly it sounds like a fairly common problem. Every once and a while I've heard of a razr making a rather low high pitched hum/squeal. I've not heard of an instance where the person your talking to has heard this though, but it would not suprise me if the could in rare cases. There is nothing that can be done to rectify this problem it's on all the razrs to one degree or another.

Odd..

NEarly ALL cell phones, regardless of type or carrier will cuase radio interference with speakers, especially PC speakers..

That said, I'd say that pchecks has a defective phone. I've not had any issues with a low level tone, or buzz/humm out of my Razr and I've not heard of it anywhere else either.
I'd snedit back and be insistent that I received a new, or at least different, phone , in return.

Good luck and let us know what happens pcheck..

My unlocked black Razr is making a strange buzzing noise from the speaker ear piece. My other party that I am talking to always questions the sound. They ask what is that huming in the background?

Also, This buzzing noise comes out of the speaker even when I am not on a call. I hear it all the time as soon as I open the cover.

I have heard a few more people say that their Razr does the same thing.

I am confused as to why it's doing this. I would think it would do this IF liquid was spilled in the speaker ear piece it self, but I don't recall anything ever spilling on it UNLESS someone else did it AND I had no idea....

Any feedback on this would be helpful. Thanks.

Now this is totally diferent from pchecks problem. Just about all cingular phones do this. All it is, is the phone recieving radio downloads from the cingular network. It is perfectly normal (you should try putting your phone next to speaker and logging on to the internet...fun noises). Now if you never get this issue when you put the phone near a speaker of some sort over night... you have a problem.
