So I just got a black RAZR today and I have been setting it up, but I cannot figure out how to set the numbers 2-9 for speed dial. I have been reading the manual but nothing I try works lol. So how do I set it up? thanks much!

Hi, go to Address book, select "New" with top Menu button which takes you to the "Phonebook Menu", then just scroll down and fill in the different areas which includes the "Speed Dial" choice which lets you enter the key pad # you want to use. If you don't select a # it will assign one for you.
BTW, it easier to reassign (map) your Address Book button to one of the home navigatation keys. That will make your address entry lookup a snap.

Good luck
Bill

Hmm, you scroll to "Speed No" then press "change",then backspace the # out that you don't want, then enter the # you want, then press "OK", then select "Done". If you don't follow these steps, especially selecting "Done" then it won't make the change you had tried to make.

Yes, that is how you change the memory location, but you still cannot set numbers that are not stored directly on the phone to speed dial. Based on the location that he is stating it is assigning to his number, he is trying to set a number that is stored to the SIM card to a speed dial. That doesn't work.

Hey, the reason you can't use the speed dial is because you have the phonebook entry stored to the SIM... it has to be stored to the PHONE, and you can only use 2 - 9... Not #1, as 1 is the voicemail!

That is because you are trying to set numbers that are stored on your SIM card to speed dial. The speed dial will only work if the number is stored on your phone. You cannot speed dial from your SIM card.

Correct. The number must be stored on the phone. The simple way to do it is to just duplicate the number. Keep it stored on your SIM but add another entry and store it to the phone. The same method needs to be done for photo CID and voice dialing. Works only from numbers stored on the phone.
