Returning my V3 to Cingular

I called up Cingular tonight and it turns out that CNA/LockLine are NOT going to insure the V3 for purposes that if people lose the phone or it gets damaged, we would only be paying about one-third of the full retail price. I am debating whether or not I should stick with Cingular and instead get the V551 which I can get insurance coverage. I will be deciding by tomorrow and on top of that, would have to call Cingular TeleSales which is where I purchase the V3 to discuss my options. In any case, I will receive credit for the phone depending on the condition of the phone (its in MINT CONDITION - not a scratch) and should I stay with Cingular, I fully intend to keep my number as well as the SIM card for the phone I will get. Now if I chose not...

Bambino,

Are you saying that those of us with the V3, if we do lose it, will only pay 1/3 the retail price? Now did Cingular tell you this or did Lockline? That isn't a bad price since Cingular is not going to insure the phone. 1/3 of $550 is $181! Thanks for the clarification. I would rather have a hefty discount than nothing at all.

(lockline)*** NO INSURANCE FOR THE V3 *** you will have to pay FULL PRICE to get a new phone if it gets stolen, you loose it, break it, or get the phone wet. UNLESS YOUR ACCOUNT QUALIFIES TO UPGRADE ***(THROUGH CINGULAR)**
