love the phone, hate the rest
1) Early reports on this forum page mentioned some very nice packaging for the V3, with an aluminum case, accessory cables, etc.. My phone came in a traditional plain Jane box, with the bare bones essentials, dumped into the bottom of the box. With all the fanfare for this phone, I would have thought some creative (impressive) packaging would have been in order. I remember some of my earliest iPod purchases, and how impressive I thought their packaging was, with clever little places for all the accessories, software, and cables. I guess Motorola and or Cingular decided to make an additional 10 bucks ...

You asked why you would store names and numbers on
a SIM card. Sometimes I swap my phone with my friends. By switching SIM cards... I can take my names and numbers with me. It would be the same if you upgraded phones with the same carrier.

to answer the question about saving numbers to phone or sim card...turns out cingular has different sim cards for different regions...so say you were to move...i'd be convenient just to buy a sim card for that area and not worry about your numbers cause they are in the phone
yes thihs is a stretch...but but that is part of the reason
i saw the razr for the firs ttime today... i work for verizon...and we do have customers coming in asking about it...more than half leave with the $49 or $99 lg 6100 or 7000...so i highly doubt they were about to spend half a thousand dollars ona phone with no accessory/company/insurance support...its cool...but its like the dodge viper of phones...pretty cool looking...expensive as hell...and built like...

Accessories are not supplied by the manufacture. The phone and accessories are included per Cingular's decision. If they wanted to, they could have sprung the extra few dollars to include a USB cable. But the good news is, everybody probably already has one anyways. In terms of which games are pre-loaded, which software is pre-loaded, that's definitely something Cingular decides. The less they put on there, the more likely you are to download them yourself, and maybe you'll pay them when you download. But if you're smart, you'll find free games and software and then transfer them on to the phone yourse...

Maybe you have a USB cable that fits, but not the rest of us. And the cheapest ones I've seen on ebay are about $10 plus the usual $10 shipping and handling. Some have a $45 price tag.
Do you even own a V3?

So if you have MPT but was a older version that you had it should still work as long as you updated it when you get on line.
