I like my new V3 very much, but Motorola and Cingular are making it difficult for me to enjoy my whole switch from Verizon. My two cents:
1) Early reports on this forum page mentioned some very nice packaging for the V3, with an aluminum case, accessory cables, etc.. My phone came in a traditional plain Jane box, with the bare bones essentials, dumped into the bottom of the box. With all the fanfare for this phone, I would have thought some creative (impressive) packaging would have been in order. I remember some of my earliest iPod purchases, and how impressive I thought their packaging was, with clever little places for all the accessories, software, and cables. I guess Motorola and or Cingular decided to make an additional 10 bucks ...

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I have my v3 for a couple of weeks now. Love the phone. But for $500 bucks I would expect at least a case or holster. I ordered the phone with a leather case from Cingular. Did I receive a leather case with my shipment? Nooo! I emailed Motorola in regards to the lack of accessories. They stated I would receive a reply in 24 hours. Did I get a reply? Nooo! "Reeks of really sorry planning" is an understatement.
You asked why you would store names and numbers on
a SIM card. Sometimes I swap my phone with my friends. By switching SIM cards... I can take my names and numbers with me. It would be the same if you upgraded phones with the same carrier.
Cingulars customer service needs improvement and Mo...

If you are with in your 30 days trade it in and pray they still have a few Smt 5600 around, reading the forums all the problems do not exist with the 5600. Unless you really just have to have that thin phone that looks great but otherwise just another phone, if you want something to entertain and actually double as a decent work connector...trade it in..get the 5600.

hey
to answer the question about saving numbers to phone or sim card...turns out cingular has different sim cards for different regions...so say you were to move...i'd be convenient just to buy a sim card for that area and not worry about your numbers cause they are in the phone
yes thihs is a stretch...but but that is part of the reason
i saw the razr for the firs ttime today... i work for verizon...and we do have customers coming in asking about it...more than half leave with the $49 or $99 lg 6100 or 7000...so i highly doubt they were about to spend half a thousand dollars ona phone with no accessory/company/insurance support...its cool...but its like the dodge viper of phones...pretty cool looking...expensive as hell...and built like...

isn't all of that supplied by the manufacturer?

You don't need a special data cable for this phone. It uses just plain old USB, so just use one of the USB cables you already have.

Accessories are not supplied by the manufacture. The phone and accessories are included per Cingular's decision. If they wanted to, they could have sprung the extra few dollars to include a USB cable. But the good news is, everybody probably already has one anyways. In terms of which games are pre-loaded, which software is pre-loaded, that's definitely something Cingular decides. The less they put on there, the more likely you are to download them yourself, and maybe you'll pay them when you download. But if you're smart, you'll find free games and software and then transfer them on to the phone yourse...

Not true.

Maybe you have a USB cable that fits, but not the rest of us. And the cheapest ones I've seen on ebay are about $10 plus the usual $10 shipping and handling. Some have a $45 price tag.

Do you even own a V3?

actually, if they included the USB, and pre loaded games, the phone would of been more. The original model had a full version of Bejewled, and had an outside LCD screen the size of the whole lense on the outside. But to cut cust costs, and maintain decent battery they cut em. Stop bitchin and but a game for 4.99 you'd be pissed if the RAZR was

Let me share it with you, you can buy a piece of handset manager data tool MA-8870, it is a very excellent data tool with software for RAZR V3. I have one and I enjoy it alot.

I have MPT for my V 400 which I bought last year and it updated to my V 3 with no problem.
So if you have MPT but was a older version that you had it should still work as long as you updated it when you get on line.

I could not imagine buying a 500 dollar phone, and then being concerned with the quality of the owners manual paper. Thats a little petty if you ask me. Spend a little time getting to know your device than spending it complaining about how the manual binding is put together.
