It's pretty simple you don't even need nokia pc suite.

All you need to do is do the walmart trick, if you don't know how to do that here's how:

www.walmart.com / go to music and search for any music you like they usually have 30 sec snippets of songs.

save the mp3 file to your computer.

all you actually need is the nokia multimedia player that you can download from www.nokia.com

this program automatically converts the mp3 snippets to amr. extensions.

once you do that go to http://www.funformobile.com/pages/ringtone/up loadRingtone.php

upload your amr file and send it to your phone. it will arrive as a text message.

check the text messages on your nokia 3220. Go to options /use detail/select web address and it ...

yes its free but amr files sound awful, if you want good ringtones buy a phone that has a built in mp3 player, like the nokia 6230 or 6620

I think it all depends on the phone and the song you actually try to get. My amr files on my nokia 3220 sound just as good if not better the the mp3 files I had on my old motorolaV551. So I think it's just a matter of preference.

All you have to do is type in multimedia player in the search bar on nokiausa homepage. BUT whenever I try to convert a file over to the right format for this phone, the program freezes halfway through it. So if someone could help with that, that would be great!

Also -- how do you save the Walmart snippets as mp3's? It says I can save the page or save the link...but how do I save it another way?

Okay it looks like I can get it converted to wav files but I don't see an option for amr files. But when I tried sending it to myself I got to the point where I selcted "Go To" and then it said "unavailable, try again later." Has that happened to anyone else?

Okay - I followed the instructions on this page exactly and now I am a ringtone-creatin' machine!

http://www.funformobile.com/pages/help/helpAMR.php »

Download the two programs there and follow the step by step instructions.

I've even mixed my own - like I made a U2 mix (made up parts of 4 U2 songs, that's about 40seconds long) and it's one of my ringtones now...This will totally help you.

Good luck!

I can right-click the song file at walmart and save it - but now how do I convert it so that Nokia Media Play or Wavepad or Audacity can play it?? The files are in MS Media player format. If I change the name to XXX.amr neither Wavepad or Nokia MP will play them.

What am I doing wrong?
