Basically, I have had this fon for almost 2 months and absoloutley love it. Perfect fon and oh so cute. My question though is if anyone has figured out how to change the banner on the fon. I am in Canada and my service provider is Rogers Wireless so my screen displays "ROGERS" across the screen right over any picture I try to save as a wallpaper. This is particularly annoying if I want to save a picture of my boyfriend as a wallpaper, he has a big "ROGERS" right through the eyes. I have gone through all of the display settings and cant figure out how to change this or delete it alltogether. If anyone else has figured it out, I would apprecieate it.

fon fun, It's my understanding that the Phone displays the current network that it is operating with. For example, I have T-Mobile in the US and my phone displays T-Mobile as a banner. I don't think that there is a way of turning this off, since it allows each carrier to mark the phone with their specific name.

My previous phone, which was a Samsung, exhibited the same behavior, so I think it's somewhat standard that all phones display the provider somewhere on the display.

Thats what I was afraid of deMarque. Unfortunate though understandable. That is one thing that will have to go on my "Negative things about this fon" but there are way more reasons to love it, so I guess its ok.

Sounds good to me. Although, just so you know, I believe that most phones don't allow for you to restrict the display of the carrier.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I haven't found one that allows for that. Now, you may be able to mess with the settings if you were able to unlock the phone. Mine is not unlocked yet, so I am not sure about that.

My bfs new Samsung A670 is able to change the banner from TELUS to whatever he wants. and its not unlocked. My old telus fon used to be able to change too. maybe its just something with Telus. (another canadian company.)

yup it's an issue between cdma and gsm
i used to have t-mo service and now have sprint service and i am well familiar with this issue...
due to the fact that gsm fons CAN be unlocked, they will always display, on the idle screen, whatever network the phone is currently getting service from

cdma fons do by default, but because they cannot be unlocked, that banner can be changed and/or disabled, depending on the fon model...

one other note about my experience with gsm fons...as i said, i had a fon from t-mo, so it usually said "T-Mobile" on the idle screen, but sometimes it would display the name of some other network service provider, such as "AT&T" or "Cingular"...it would usually do this when i was in a rural area where t-mo service...
