Under contract to Cingular

I am currently under contract to Cingular and my V600 was stolen yesterday. So I thought of trying to be patient and getting this because it seems to be just about everything I want. But I accnot switch to T-Mobile because of the contract (22 months remain - yikes).

Has anyone heard about this being made to work with Cingular? Is the phone going to be "locked" to T-Mobile?

if you get it from tmobile it will be locked..but if you buy it out right, you can get it unlocked, sadly it wont be able to use the internet most likely, so youll have to go through a lot of trouble (if possible) to get the settings fixed that way

Correct me if Im wrong, but when you have the SIM card from your carrier, the only thing you will need is to insert it to the phone and it will work. That is the beauty of the GSM Tech. right?

sorry, but just beacuse you have a SIM card does not mean you can just swap cards, it still has to be unlocked by the carrier or other means to get the phone "talking" with your carrier.
