actually it DOES have an mp3 player, what do you think the buttons on the front of the flip are for? (play, stop, ff, rw)

Whether it has mp3 is not much of an incentive to forget it. That's just me. I know some people want it. I'll take it or leave it.
I am disappointed that it does not have bluetooth built in. But Sprint in general seems to suck when it comes to bluetooth options.
However, those things aside, I would probably still buy this phone if it comes out before a better alternative. I'm drawn to the form factor, external display, and Palm OS. Right now its the only hope I have from Sprint. I'll keep hoping until I see something that tells me its available or discoed. We'll see.

I'm so tired of hearing about Bluetooth. People I know who have it say that for a headphone, it's ok. But not for anything else.

If you're looking at the Treo because of it, forget it. The Treo's Bluetooth doesn't work on anything other than the headset, even though it's supposed to.

The same thing is true for most other BT phones.

And despite what some have stated here before, it's got NO security. That's been shown numerous times already.

For those who think that "pairing" is security, it's not. That's the way the security is broken. A new device simply asks to be temporaarally paired, sucks your info out, and leaves.

FEH!!

I'll wait a little longer for this.

Well my situation has been simplified. I don't have to worry about waiting for the i550 anymore. However, I'm still stuck. I guess I'll just keep my a500 then. I won't use the Windows OS on the i600 and the Treo just really isn't my style. Not sure what I'll do now. The i550 would have been my ideal phone. Palm OS in a Clamshell form factor. Guess I would have been better off just buying the i500. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the lack of an external display. I'm stumped.

I agree. Hopefully Samsung will come out with a phone like the I550. If I were Samsung, I would capitalize on the short comings of the Treo. It would be funny if Samsung came out with a I650 that had a souped up camera and better memory, actual enabled bluetooth, clamshell design, wifi, ect. That would be great. I guess I will wait a little longer....

Is this info definite? If it is, it's too bad. The Treo 650, like the 600, has problems. I'd hate to get rid of my i330, which has served me well, only to find out that it's out, or that a newer one will be here shortly.

I agree whole-heartedly with you. I moved to the i500 from the Treo 600 simply because I did not like the size and feel of the 600 very much, and I certainly do not want to move to the 650. My only option left to me, with the demise of the i550 was to move to the i500, which has some drawbacks, but all things considered is just what I wanted that you expressed you wanted too - a Palm OS phone in a Clamshell form factor. Dang! I wish the i550 would have come out.....
