If and when will this phone be available for Cingular?
I'm ready to sign up for new service with Cingular. Will the e317 be available soon? If not, are there other phones worth waiting for?

The e317 is the European version of the e316. The e316 is AT&T branded, and the "olympic phone" which is sponsored by AT&T, so I wouldn't be surprised if Cingular doesn't offer it.

They should offer it. I checked out the ringtones and graphics section at cingular.com. This may be like the p107 it may take a while to release. Hopefully not that long. 😉
