USCC roaming

Has anyone noticed that this phone has the tendency to roam in good service areas? It seems to roam quite often. When I set the network to "home only" it has no problem picking up us cellular towers and I get great reception. I've never had a problem with my other us cellular phones in the same areas. Anyone know why it seems to be picking up verizon towers even when USCC signal is stronger? It's not a huge problem, I don't get charged for roaming, however it takes longer for me to receive both text messages and voicemail. Setting it to home only to correct this also isn't a big deal, but I wanted to see if anyone else is noticing this, or if it just may be an issue with my individual phone. I have never had an issue with roaming signal in my home coverage area... and never heard of anyone else having that issue.

Yes, the prl update is always unsuccessful. I'll have the tech force an update when I get a chance, but I have the current s/w version and prl version, so there really shouldn't be a problem.

I'm just going to keep the thing on home only, because I've modded the thing too much to send it out for repair. I mean, I could, but it takes 4-6 weeks and I would have to rewrite it's PRI back to factory settings...it would be a pain in the ass, and my phone works perfectly well. Still, I was curious. Must be a software issue with my handset.
