Do not bother to ask sprint about the phone

I emailed sprint regarding the 6255 and this is the actual e-mail I received back:

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for contacting Sprint with your upgrade questions.

There is no release date at this time for the ppc 6601Nokia does not
have a 6255 model at this time. Perhaps you were speaking about the
6225. If so, this model is out a available at any of our local PCS
stores for $169.99. I hope this information has answered your questions
today.

Customer Satisfaction is very important to me, so please reply to this
email if there are questions or concerns that I did not address.

xxxxx x.

I think that letter pretty much hints that they have no plans at releasing the Nokis 6255i model at all, for all of you whom were wondering about Sprint offering this phone.

Either that or Sprint's customer service is clueless. I suspect (hope) it is the latter...

cheers all,

Clueless as they may be, this phone probably isn't destined to join the line-up of Sprint or Verizion. Both have much better phones already.

Sprint will carry it because of all the people who has Nextel and have to deal with the Motorola phones that are so BAD!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

I work for a smaller wireless company who has hinted they will offer this phone @ the end of the year, however, we dont get price points on products until it is out and I can only learn about the phones online until we are actually selling it, so it is probably the case for all of us who work in the industry!!

It sounds like you had a nice rep that was willing to try and provide good service to you. Unfortunately because of the limited access the rep had he did seem a bit clueless.

bla bla bla.

This will be a great phone if they don't price it to high. A nice, midrange phone with bluetooth and an average camera.

Like the LG vx6100 - before it came out, people said "with the 8000, what's the point of the 6100"? But when it came out, people realized - it's a solid mid-level phone. It's for people who don't want to drop several hundred dollars on their phone. :-)

Well that is just it, this isn't supposed to be a mid level phone, that is what the 6155 is.
