start-up tone
Does anyone know any tricks to disabling the annoying start-up tone this phone plays when powering on? I find no setting for this.

Try selecting a silent ringer before turning it off. Simplify the process over all by creating a profile called 'no sound' and quickily select it when you press the power button to turn off phone. Switch to that profile first, which mutes the tone, then press the power button and hold to turn it off. Just switch back to your normal profile after you turn it on. If that's too tough...try being more tolerant or buy a new phone after turning it on and off next time.
