I love this phone. I got it in red. I purchased it from Sprint Customer Solutions. Reception is a lot better than the 8100 i previously had. Anyone know where I can get the extended battery or a desktop charger? Thanks 😛

Text messaging is cool. No need to get online to send messages. Vision in pretty fast, just like my old phone.

Sound quality is great. My mom has a synthetic roof on her house that is similar to tin. It is guaranteed to last forever and I used to not be able to use my phone inside because of the roof. With this new phone, I can use it and have decent signal strength indoors. The alarm is a genuine alarm that can be programmed to go off daily or just once. It is separate from the calendar reminders. Battery life I am not sure about. I just got it today. The key backlight is awesome. So much better than the 8100 I previously had. Camera is easy to use and relatively decent considering the screen resolution is not as good as my friends Toshiba 4050. Great phone so far. I love it. The red color is cool because it is metallic.

What is the menu system like? Is it more icon driven?

How is the volume? I keep hearing that with these Sanyos, the speakrphone is either too quiet, too loud, or unbearably loud! I hear that there really is not a good volume setting....how is the volume on the speakerphone? Also, for the regular phone for that matter.

Yes, the icons on the menu are more detailed and "prettier" if you can sayy that about a phone. It just all around looks nicer and they are more refined. Speakerphone and headset volumes are both exceptional. Like I said, I had the 8100 and I loved the volumes on it also. It must just be certain people that don't like the volume or maybe certain people are inadequate in their adaptive qualities of using a great phone (Sanyo). A+++ Phone!!! I love it, Plus it comes with 4 different trial versions of newer MobilTV and a new Weather program to name two.

Alot of the accessories aren't 100% available yet (i.e. cases, belt clips, extended batteries, etc), but they will be very, very soon. 🙂

I told the woman from Customer Solutions that I wanted to purchase the Sanyo PM-8200 because I wanted to upgrade from my current phone. She made me aware the phone would not be available to ship until monday (April 12) but I could pre-order it and have it shipped. It is gorgeous. The metallic Red is a great choice in my opinion. I can send you a pic if you want. Just give me your email and I will take a good detailed pic with my Olympus c-700UZ to brag. It's a great phone.

Can you tell if the speakerphone is Half-Duplex or Full-Duplex? i.e. - Half-Duplex allows only one person to speak at a time. When one person is speaking, the other person can not be heard at all until the first person has stopped speaking completely. With Full-Duplex, both parties can speak naturally and be heard at the same time.

The only thing I can find about quality of the speakerphone is "Open or closed, hands-free operation of your phone is made easy with this built in high quality speakerphone."
