ok, you can force it. it doesn't show up in the menu, but here's how you do it.
press menu
press 0 [zero]
it asks for a 6 digit service code it's
000000 [all zeros]
press 3 [force mode]
pick what you want.... just remember that it won't switch when you need it to. This might not entirely be what you were looking for, but it is one option.
