LG VX-6100

The analog seems pretty good. I could call out from yosemite valley and my wife got 2 calls on a hike up sentinal dome above the valley. She also has a vx6100. It may not have worked as well as my older bigger kyrocera a year or 2 ago but it was better than an even older audiovox. I suspect analog reception peaked last generation and newer phones are not as good in analog mode as they shrink the phone and more phones are dropping analog mode entirely. It took a few tries in the valley and using the roof of my car as an antenna reflector may have helped but I'm still impressed I can make a call in the sierra mts in a 3000 ft granite canyon in the middle of a national park. In the many years I've been there my analog verizon phones have been the only working cell among the 10-15 phones I know of over the years.
