Honest Input Please!

I am still trying out the LG VX6100 and need some honest input before my 2-weeks are up to return it. I tried the brand new LG phone that just came out in July and absolutely loved it. HOWEVER, I travel in some rural areas and didn't have service so I had to go to a phone that still has analog. Unfortunately, all the great phones are digital now and there aren't too many phones out there with analog. The rep recommended this phone. I wanted the Motorola V710, but it wasn't in stock and he said they had way too many problems with it -- always being returned. He told me the speaker worked with the phone closed, but I haven't figured it out yet. Does anyone know if there is a better phone for me?😁

this phone is a great phone. the only way to use the speaker phone when it is closed is to, make sure the speaker is on, plug in ur headset, make a call and close the phone. At this point while the phone is closed, unplug the headset and boom, u have speaker phone while its closed. i have been looking at the new samsung that is comming out, and i think i might switch to it. also kyocera has the kx5, which might come out for verizon but I'm not sure. otherwise hang onto the 6100, i have head moto had lots of problems with alot of their phones.. hope this helps 🙂

First of all, this LG VX6100 does have analog mode! Mine has switched into it a few times already! Right here in my hometown even with USCC service! Mine has not dropped any calls as of yet. I've had service with USCC in the remotest areas here in Iowa away from where I live! I'm wondering if maybe it's the phone itself? You might want to just exchange it and try that. But I've had no trouble at all in the last 4 weeks that I've had my VX6100 yet! Hope that helps!

The analog seems pretty good. I could call out from yosemite valley and my wife got 2 calls on a hike up sentinal dome above the valley. She also has a vx6100. It may not have worked as well as my older bigger kyrocera a year or 2 ago but it was better than an even older audiovox. I suspect analog reception peaked last generation and newer phones are not as good in analog mode as they shrink the phone and more phones are dropping analog mode entirely. It took a few tries in the valley and using the roof of my car as an antenna reflector may have helped but I'm still impressed I can make a call in the sierra mts in a 3000 ft granite canyon in the middle of a national park. In the many years I've been there my analog verizon phones have...
