JUST ORDERED!!!!

Cannonball

Oct 19, 2004, 9:38 AM
My VZW acct is in the Ohio market and Ohio website and CS does not have access to phone. However, I live in the Nashville, TN market. Phone just became available on verizonwireless.com with TN market zip code. I searched under the TN zip and then logged in and chose to upgrade and it let me do it. I even called to confirm that I didnt have to wait until it was available from the Ohio market and they said no, my order was in processing and was scheduled to be shipped out by 5pm today!

Get em while you can. If the buzz is any proof, this phone may be one of the most popular ones yet!

I'll post a review as soon as I get it!

Rock on!

It depends on the store. I used to work for VZ a few years ago and (at that time) it all depended on acct access. Any store can see one of the 2 programs that VZW uses to handle customers. But when you get into different markets, it becomes the stores choice whether or not to help. If you get someone cool, they can call into CS and do everything via phone. If you get someone who is not so willing to help, they can say you have to go to your store in ur market. It's a poker hand dude!

Good luck!

I just ordered it too!

Go to the VZW web site and change the zip to 37774 it is in TN. Then just continue to upgrade your phone. Good Luck! If anyone figures out anything else cool for the phone, buttons or accessories. Let us know!

Enjoy! 🤣 🤣 🙂 😈

how sure are you that its possible, i just called my rep, and she said that even if i change my zip code my order will go to the northeast fulfillment center, which does not have the phone in stock, so even if i do order the phone with my nashville zipcode because i am registered in the northeast they will not be able to send me the phone until it is available in the northeast, she said all i can do is wait and see

You could be right. I do have my confirmation slip though. It says 2-5 buss. days. I guess if I don't get it then I will know. But I think that the NorthEast does have the phones, b/c some poeple were able to get them before they were pulled off VZW web site. Try it and let me know. No harm done! 😎

i tried to do what g2 suggested and buy the phone in the nashville zip code, the order went through, but i just checked now and it says the order has been cancelled, they prob realized that i am not based in the south so they will not send the phone to the northeast, which is b.s., any suggestions on how to get it or when the northeast will recieve it are welcome

Listen, I am not fighting about this. Maybe you are right. I just checked my order and it is still being shipped. I think I ordered before you did, so I would expect them to cancel mine first. The whole thing is fishy and annoying. Mine is still on the way. Hope it works out for you!

And we've found the catch ladies and gentlemen!

Ok, as I said, I place my order yesterday. I have an Ohio acct., but live in TN. So I ordered via the TN system and it "let" me do it. BUT...I got an email today saying that my order was being trnsfrd to the Pittsburgh system, since that is the market that handles my phone. I was concerned that I would have to wait until it officially launched on the website and in stores, but I have been assured, that even though it is not shown on the website for my market, it is in stock and available and it is being shipped immediately. I have verified this and VZW has guaranteed it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm in the Michigan market which is a Midwest area by VZW and I ordered mine on Sunday and received it this morning. You should have no problem getting it because the phone isn't out in Michigan either.

I just wanted to put an update out there. This morning I called to check on my order, b/c there had been some confusion yesterday on this site, whether my idea would work. They told me that I would have to wait until it was out in the North East. Needless to say I was upset, but then I just got a call from VZW that they would open a small window on my acct for me to order it. Then they said I did not even need to do that. The rep ordered it for me and they are sending it next day free of charge for the confusion. I should have it tomm. or Friday at the latest. 🤣

I'm in the NorthEast, and can't get the same answer from Verizon two times in a row.

I've heard so far:

- This phone is only available in stores
- This phone is only available online
- (in the store) You have to call to get this phone
- This phone is going to be available the 20th
- This phone isn't going to be available in the NE

This is frustrating - I'm an AT&T customer looking to port my number over to Verizon and it's like they aren't interested. None of them seem to know what's going on.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I can only tell you what I did.

I used zip code 37774 and ordered the phone. It is worth a shot. Then I called VZW up and had them route it through the NE. I am not going to lie and say that it did not take effort, but if I get the phone this week, it is worth it.

BTW... If you are going to be a new customer, you can give a friend $25 for reffering you!

Thanks for the advice - I think my problem is that I want to port my number over from AT&T and it comes up as an error when I put the other zip code in.

Heyyy

well I just called up the 800 number for verizon and was very candid about the problem. I said that I wanted the 6100 and that I lived in the "northeast" region (even though im like 20 min from NC) and I asked him if there were still 6000's at the warehouse and he said yes, but that that didn't matter I could still order the phone (the 6100) I asked him again, so I am able to order the 6100 right now no matter where I am located? he said yes. now on the website it is not showing up, but as he said to me, I can get it.

do I believe this? I am not sure. Like you said, I have gotten several answers about different things from verizon before. I wanted to do an early upgrade earlier this year, and I got about 10 different answers to ...

None of them know what they are talking about.

I think the whole thing is just to mess with us, b/c VZ is the best service and they know we are all going to hang on for the phone we want. It is just getting a little annoying!

Please let us know how you make out. I'm in NJ and haven't been able to order the 6100. Please let us know which 800# you call and the person you speak to.

They sure know how to frustrate customers - especially when the phone is available in other areas.

I'm on Long Island - the most popular answer I've gotten is that the phone is only available in stores.

I just had a friendly young lady call the manager of the local store for me to find out the same thing I found out on my own - they don't know what they're talking about! 🤣

how can you do this, every verizon rep i talk to on the phone say that because the phone isnt my fulfillment center, northeast, that i can not get the phone, which i think is bs, i am not going to buy a 6000 so why make me wait until someone else does, any advice starter

Did you try going into a store and ordering it? All they have to do is choose Direct Fulfillment and the code to order it is LG-VX6100 and that should be it. The only thing is I purchased mine at retail because I always try them out for 15 days and if I like them then I order them through my employee site and get the discount and if I don't like them then I just return it to my store and wait for something else to come out.

GSimmons10, let's get things in the right perspective here. Most if not all of us in this forum is a current VZW customer. I've ported my number from VZW to Cingular awhile back but had to port it back to VZW because of the poor GSM coverage and phone selections (I'm in MO, zip 64152). The 6100 is not showing in our region since they accidentally posted it last Tuesday, I just got lucky and place the order online right before they took it off. I have to go through a little hazzle myself before they finally ship it Thursday 'cause it showed it's not available in the system when I called the online sales support. I called several times & got the same run around as you do before I finally got someone nice enough to process my order anyway. I do...

I just look at the web regarding their return/exchange policy. It did say "one" but really did not say you can only exchange the phone once. It worth a try if he can get a nice enough saleman.

I live in the Nashville Market and noticed you live here too. I've been struggling with the 8000 and the 8100 the past several weeks trying to get the same sound quality and reception I had with my lg tm510 the past 2 years. No Luck.

I'm thinking of exchanging the 8100 for the 6100. Looks like you've had it since last October. Is it working well for you? Is the sound and reception the best?

Just wondering what someone from my own market would say about the 6100 vs the 8100????
