LG VX-6100

I just turned in a non-funtioning 6100 for a new one, and the new phone has apparently lost some funtionality. With the old one, when a headset was plugged in and the speaker was "off", the ringer would come through the headset. WIth the new phone, whether the speaker is set to on or off seems to make no difference - the ringer always comes through the phone, and not the headset.

Anyone have expericence with this feature? Should turning the speaker on or off while a headset is plugged in have any effect?
