Can you download "Real Music" songs on this phone? Like some phones just play the tune. I want the ones that ACTUALLY play the song with the lyrics!

😉 The answer is YES u can download real music tone for $3.98 each (DAMN i know!). they are really quiet and tend to lead you into missing some calls. What you can do instead is record a song from somewhere such as TV, radio, pc, walk-man etc. and set it as your ring-tone. I do it all the time!

Are you just recording the song via the microphone in the phone (ie. holding it up to a speaker from a tv, etc) or are you downloading the song from a device (ie. MP3 format)?

I have tried to record the song on the radio and also on the tv. Every way that I try it it sounds "choppy". Is there any type of device that I could use (microphone, etc.) to make it sound better? THANKS in advance.

I used to do it that way, but then I found out the files could be choppy, now im doing this thing where you go to verizons site, http://getitnow-origin.vzwshop.com/getpixflix .main.do, once there you will see on the right, a place to go to pix place. All you have to sign in is with an email address saying who its from(just make one up if you want).Once there, go to create messages(on the top of screen) and select send pix message. You will see a red button near the top-right that says Upload media. All you have to do now is select the song you want. I found this site nextpimp.com that you can find midi and wav ringtones and they both work fine. Then save it on the desktop or where ever and then upload that song. You can also do this with the ...

Wait so you got the message and it played the song right? What I do next, and I just did it yesterday, you click options on the right once you open the pix message and click save sound. After you click that change the name to what the ringtone is. If you go into menu (7) media and then into sounds it should be in there and click set as on the left side on the bottom then choose contact, caller id, and restricted. I have Get back, Go to Sleep, Lets go, and How we doin there right now and they work fine

Yes, you can. There are a few on Get it Now, but not many. Another option is to record the sound or song you want to use as a voice memo and then use that as a ringer.

Another option is to use a program like Datapilot or BitPim and a data cable. Then you can download ringtones directly to the phone.

The 6100 does not like the file extension .mp3, so you have to rename the file with an .mid extension before you transfer it. The phone also will not play stereo mp3's so you need to remix them down to mono with something like Audacity. Also try and keep the files small, 30 secs is about right, a full mp3 will more then likely fill the memory.
