Forcing All Digital Service: A Cure for the Analog Blues

If you have been having issues with the phone switching to analog when you prefer it wouldn't try this procedure to make the phone all-digital rather than digital and analog.

Press [MENU] + [0]

Then Security Code: [0][0][0][0][0][0]

You are now in the "Field Test/Service Menu" where you can force the Preferred Mode... Just select "Force Mode" press [OK] select "CDMA" and press [OK] then [End}

If you don't like it you can always switch it back to the original default setting "Automatic" using this same procedure.

You can always adjust this setting prior to going into fringe or analog areas.

this becomes a pain because everytime you turn on the phone, it auto set to 'Automatic' đŸ˜ĸ . Plus, after switching, since it couldn't switch to Analog when it wants to, it'll switch to No Signal, at least this is what i have observed in my house. ☚ī¸

The solution to my problem with this 6100 was to get rid of the phone and get something that is not too sensitive to reception fluctuations like the v265. so far so good... i never had to figure out moto's service menu since i never had this problem. 🙂

1. No, it doesn't automatically reset to
"Automatic" after you shut it off after
making this change. It stays set until you
change it regardless of how many times you
power the phone on and off. I think you
forgot to push [OK[ after you made the
change the first time. Without this command
it isn't set as the preference and will
default to the last correctly set
preference after power off/up.

2. My reception has been great. Far better
than my short-lived Moto v710. Posted this
for folks who are having a problem.

3. I'm not a Moto guy. They haven't made a
decent phone since the StarTac. Don't feel
like being a beta tester for them.

4. Love the always-on OLED...

OLED on the 6100?? It doesn't look like OLED to me. It's very easy on the eyes, but not OLED.
