I'm confused as to whether or not this phone has internet access. I've read both...that it does and does not. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it does. Maybe what you've read is that is uses WAP 2.0 instead of WAP 1.1 and it is hard to find free WAP 2.0 access. You can pay Verizon $4.99 / month for access; you can pay a lower fee elsewhere online; you can set up your own WAP server at home. Those are the options I know of.

Has anyone been able to get that tutorial to work on the vx6100? Its seems the phone will not let you change the port settings(automatically goes back to default)

What you need is a WAP gateway that works on port 8080. The only one I know of is the one you can download at www.nowwap.com. Unfortunately, it's just a trial, and expires in 30 days.

On a related note, the Now.WAP site talks about "Wireless Profiled HTTP/TCP (W-HTTP and W-TCP)" and the port 8080 setting in their software is labeled "HTTP (WAP2) Proxy". Does anyone know what is functionally different between this and the old WAP stuff on port 9201? Is there some way that Kannel (www.kannel.org) can be set up to handle this?
