Verizon Banner on Display

Does anyone know how to get rid of this banner on the display?
If you don't already have it on there you will if you update your phone by using #228.....

Banner reads: VERIZON WIRELESS

This banner is only present on phone's with an America's Choice plan (not on a local plan).

I don't believe there is a way to get rid of it without hacking the phone--do a search in this forum with the keyword "banner"--I think this topic was discussed in the last week or so.
