Speakerphone activation?

scotte

My cell needs include:

- Speakerphone (used when I drive)
- must be easy to access

- Camera

- AMPS/CDMA

My Motorola 7868 is a dream with the add-on speakerphone, but having a camera would be a nice addition. I also qualify for NE2. All the research I've done leads to the 6100 (which would be free for me under NE2), but, even downloading the manual, I cannot figure out how to easily activate the speakerphone on-demand.

Either it was omitted, or I am missing it.

Please help.

Thanks.

Turning on the speakerphone is really easy--just press up on the navigation pad to turn the speakerphone on or off (either before or during a call). There is also something called driving mode which isn't explained in great detail in the manual. You press a button on the side of the phone for 3 sec. and it goes into this mode. All functions become voice activated (including digit dial, calling contacts, answering calls, the current time, etc.). You just have to flip the phone open to access the voice menu while you are driving. This is an excellent feature. I too came from a 7868, tried the Audiovox 9900 for 15 days and then got this. I am happy with my choice.

Good Luck.

The speakerphone is toggled ON/OFF at any time (during or prior to a call) with the [UP] direction on the "navigation disc" (key)...

It is very convenient...

The "driving mode" is toggled ON/OFF with the bottom side key and the flip closed...

The Voice command mode is started by the bottom side key and the flip open...

These all work very logically... (Except for the bug that if you make or get a call while in "driving mode" then the speakerphone will remain ON even after you leave the "driving mode", and until you deliberately turn it off... a known and sometimes irritating "bug")...

Guess you got two answers, at the same time...
