It takes a while to really get a feel for a phone... I think at least 2 weeks...

I have had the Nokia 5120, 7100, Mot V60S, T720, T730, LG vx3200, vx4500, vx6000, vx6100, Audiovox 9900... (Still have most of them)

Initial thoughts on the 6100 is that it is a "nice" phone...

More later...

TMBS - CURIOUS AS TO YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE 9900 VS 6100. i'VE READ A LOT ABOUT THE TWO. WANTED TO GET ANOTHER OPINION, ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU SAY THAT YOU STILL HAVE MOST OF THEM.

Yup, still have my 9900... that is a "very nice" phone too... The QVGA screen is amazing...

As they are both recently released, similar featured, models I will compare the two in about a week...

I know it hasn't been a week yet but....have you drawn a conclusion yet on the 6100's RF and ability to hold a signal? Reason I ask is that I LOVE this phone except for the fact I get very marginal signals.

I live and work in Waukesha. I work very near I-94 and get a horrible signal in the office. Barely one bar and it hunts between home and extended constantly. Also at home I get about the same signal. Very poor and marginal. Lot's of dropped calls, need to dial 10 digits, etc.

Oustide, no issues!

I've tried the different 'forced mode' settings and the only one that will 'pull'a good signal is 'analog only'. This is 2004 not 1994 and I refuse to place the phone in that state to work inside.

Your experience?

Well... you are right about analog... it's OK once in a while... but not to use on any regular basis...

I'm in Brookfield, and have to bad Verizon service at the house, but when forced over to "Cell Only", all is well on the US Cellular network, 800MHz CDMA, (as Verizon "Extended Network")...

The vx6100 the CDM9900 and the vx4500 all have similar RF handling ability... with a slight edge to the CDM9900...

Strangely enough, in our area the LG vx3200 works amazingly well... you can force the modes in the same way as with the 6100... you might want to try one... (I know they are strickly a no frills phone... BUT THEY WORK REAL GOOD!!!)...

You might also try the Samsung SCH-A650 it is Tri-Mode, extendable Antenna, and is also conside...
