these are just my opinions, anyone is welcome to disagree. my wife and i got aud 9900's two weeks ago. after about a week i couldn't stand the single holed earpiece and how lining it up on my ear made a huge difference in earpiece volume. it appears others don't have the same issue, so i guess i'm oversensitive to it. the 9900 then also started making horrible plastic creeking sounds when you put any pressure from your face on the upper half. i was out. i guess i'm just spoiled on my T-Mo moto V300 - an incredible phone in both construction and performance (i'm told v400's on cingular are the same). why can't Verizon get a similar model??? ok i'm drifting off subject already. my 9900 had to go back, went for the 6100. my wife decide...

Thanks for the insight! I'm still trying to do my homework on these two phones, and phonescoop by far has been the most informative. I was waiting for the 6100 to come out, but got impatient and went with the 9900. As for comparisons, from reading different posts, I don't know if these phones are in the same class. Feature wise, I think the 9900 is more comparable to the VX7000 or V710. But that's just my opinion.

I'm still within my 15-day trial period, but haven't found anything wrong enough with my phone to exchange it for another. I haven't noticed any creaking in the plastic, but then again, I'm not one to lean on the upper half either. As far as the size goes, yea, it's definitely big,...and I have small hands...but I like it. I als...

Thank you for taking the time to write this excellent side by side review. I had a 9900 for the full 15 day period and had no intention of taking it back. On the 15th day, I called verizon and they had gotten the 6100's in that day. Out of curiosity, I went to look at it and liked it, and agree with all of your analysis. I left the store still intending to keep my 9900, but then, oddly enough, over the next day, the battery drained 2 times all the way to low from a full charge under minimal usage (and in a short time of like 2 hours). All I did was a have a 10 minute conversation on it and program in a few phone numbers. I went back to the store to get a new battery (or entire 9900 unit) and on the way, decided I would get a 6100 inste...

i know the 9900 is much better in size and brightness. is the 6100 just as clear? is it only smaller? how do you like the menu asthetics? I've had a difficult time sending messages on my 9900. LOOOOOvvvveee the big screen though. That's about the only reason I'd keep this thing. The LG feels great (i have the 6000 and I'm assuming they're about the same).
