Sony Ericsson S700i Vodafone branding! HELP!

Right! I have recently received a SE S700i & I'm experiencing problems with certain applications on the phone. I've had a quick browse on the Internet & discovered that Vodafone are now branding there phones & therefore taking away, or stopping you from using certain elements of the phone's software. (If I'm wrong, please someone correct me) The main reason for this post is, I want to be able to have an MP3 as a ringtone, this I know is disabled on my Vodafone S700i. Could someone point me in the right direction of how I can get rid of my branding on my phone.

I am using a Mac with OSX & I have Bluetooth.

Had same problem as you - as i'm sure many others have had. Vodafone are a pain in the arse to be frank.

You can get around this problem of MP3's as ringtones however.

Download and install DRM packager form the Sony Erricson developers website. You will have to register (foc). This package allows you to attach Digital rights to individual MP3's before you bluetooth it to the s700i. Essetially it tricks the phone into thinking its a vodafone ringtone (you won't however be able to forward to your mates) on the ones you've attached the DRM.

Only other solution is a T28 service cable and a credit for Total Multiserver to debrand.

Hope this helps
