Sony Ericsson Z500

I bought the DCU-11 cable a month ago, and I have just leaned how to use it. The problem lies with the driver you are installing. If you bought the cable from a third party then it seems you can't use sony ericssons driver.You can get the driver from here:http://home.netvigator.com/~wjcorp9/dku5 /
Install the driver from the location rather then downloading it.(There is a reason why, but it would take forever to explain)
once the driver is installed plug in you cable to your USB port. If you are running windows xp it find and install the device automatically. after the device is installed go to control panel-system-click hardware tab-device manager. When the device manager is open go down to "ports" and expand it. It should show "prolific usb to Sella comm port"
and in ( ) it will show the exact comm port that the device is connected to. You will need to know the comm port. Once you establish the comm port go back to the control panal, and look for the "phone monitor options" icon. Open that and click on the comm ports tab..Find the comm port that your device is connected to enable that comm port. Now your USB-11 cable is ready for use..However you need additional software. You can download sony ericsson's file manager from their site or a better on is found at http://fma.sourceforge.net/...It is called floats mobile agent...Download and itstall it. You will have to follow the instructions on using it, because I am a beginner myself...
