Sony Ericsson Z500
Reading text messages from the external simply doesn't work.
I have no idea how a few people are able to do it, but I went to the sonyericsson.com site and found this.
"This phone does not support viewing messages from the external display. Sony Ericsson is aware this is a desirable feature on clamshell phones and is exploring this for future models."

Like I said, I have no idea how some people can read messages. Maybe they don't know the difference between getting an alert about a message being received, and actually reading the received message.

This phone is supposed to be able to display text messages on the outter screen, just look at your user manual on page 43.
