If only this phone had bluetooth

I understand that SE didn't include BT on this phone in order to keep end user costs low, but I wish they would release a similar phone with the addition of bluetooth. IMO, BT is such a valuable feature that I wouldn't mind spending the additional $50-$100 for it. I think the Z500 is an incredible phone, it's just missing that one crucial aspect. I spent too much $$$ on a SE bluetooth hands-free car kit to have it go to waste by purchasing this phone. Please SE, give us this phone with bluetooth. What are your opinions on this matter?

If you don't mind spending more money as long as it's an SE with bluetooth, then wait (with a bunch of other people) for the S710a to come out. The Z500a is more of a middle range phone. The S710a is a higher range with bluetooth (but also more expensive)

Yeah, that is my plan to get the S710a. Aside from that fact that they are both SE phones, they are totally different. Talk about comparing apples and oranges. I want a small clamshell phone like the Z500 w/ BT. The S710a has more features than anyone could dream of, but it is also the size of a brick (not literally). Regardless of the attempts to cut costs, I think SE should have included BT with the Z500 and made it the better alternative to the Moto V551. I honestly believe that more people would purchase this phone at the additional cost with BT compared the lower cost without it.

With Bluetooth, are you able to connect (with NO cable) to sound files on your desktop computer to install new ringtones? I have a ton of great ringtones on my home computer but do not want to buy more "cables" for the V 551.

you should also be able to share the EDGE internet connection with your laptop though BT or usb.

i for one am going with the s710a, it looks slightly large, but for the feature set, it looks fine.

bluetooth is a way for two or more phones to connect to one another outside of the service providers network. It is a way of exchanging files and other info. usually has a range of 33ft. It can also be used to communicate with other devices such and wireless headsets and car kits. Its a nice feature to have, but personally it wont make or break my phone purchase. I had it on my T616 but did not know anybody else that had this feature on their phone so it was pretty useless to me. I would have liked to have a wireless headset but now I have speakerphone so that makes up for it.

he isnt entirely right.

bluetooth can be used to connect phones and headsets, phones and car kits, phones and phones, and phones and computers. i would say the best feature of it is to transfer pictures from your bluetooth phone to your computer, or ringtones or share the internet access from your phone to your computer. I just got a new bluetooth enabled laptop, and hopefully i'll get the s710a with EDGE to share with my laptop.
