First, verizon needs a new nokia phone. First there was the 6225 and the 6585 and verizon can't snag or get a BREW model and now there this gr8 thing that sprint's getting along with the 6225. Verizon needs a gr8 new Nokia phone.

A couple things,

Why do you think Nokias are the best phones? They are only known for their batterylife. Besides that, I think, personally, Nokias are worthless phones. They have very poor reception. And with VZW, they do not pick up extended networks. Nokias are rather worthless in my opinion. I agree with Moretat2s. VZW needs to stay as far away from them.

In regards to this phone, Flashlight? FM Radio? Wait, lemme grab my sleeping bag and we can go out in the backyard to go camping. 🤣

WHat are the people at Nokia thinking, do they really believe that people are going to use some of these functions, especially with only 2.4 hrs. of batterylife. Wait, let me listen to pop radio, and then I will try to call my f...

i don't know what you guy are talkin about. Ya the battery life but overall these are good solid phones. Some of those features are really cool. I'd have to agree with you on the flashlight but it's a Nokia phone with all the great features that anyone could want.

The problem with the Nokia CDMA phone is that Nokia cannot seem to get the software right. I am still updating handsets that have been discontinued with newly released software.... 🙄

Because their phones suck. Name me a good phone that Nokia puts out, that gets good reception. YOU CANT. As much as you try to make an argument for Nokia, you cannot. Why do you think that the World's largest carriers VZW/Vodafone (Two joined companies) Stay away from them? Nokia needs to come up with some phone that uses its features well, and still gets the reception that "normal" phones get. Batterylife is useless if you cannot find service to talk.

Maybe if Nokia changed their name secretly and put out some phones with good reception, they could make a profit. Another point, correct me if I am wrong, but didnt their sales drop a couple million in 2003???

Plain and simple, we, when I say that I only mean people who do not...

Sry about the false info on Vodafone, but VZW? Like you said, they have one. I was with one of my friends in NY lastweek, just for an example, and he tried calling out on his, he got near to no reception, where it should be amazing,he eventually got through, where as I, who has the disfunctional T720--I hate it-- however I had perfect reception, and I always have.

Again sorry about the Vodafone part, but also remember, Nokia is a primary GSM, only few CDMA or AMPS phones, so the choice of them is limited, yet VZW doesnt jump to get them. They have bad reps on service, and good reps on batterylife/pricing.

The phones are cheap, less than $150 on any of their phones, and most of them come with rebates. Look at the 3589i, its like...

Yes I hate it too, but I am stuck with it until October, might as well "soop it up the best I can". But in regards to the Nokia, batterylife is very good, but regards to service reputation, I dont know if this one will be as bad, but reputation wise, they are pretty bad, and like I said earlier, my friend and I were in NY and he has the 3985i, i think thats the # probably not but you know which one i am talking about, and he could barely get it when I was near perfect. You cannot reverse that fact, all that we/you, can hope for that if VZW does get a Nokia phone, that it will have a much better service reception that its predecessor models.

If you're talking about their older phones, (5185, etc.,) then I agree with you (and so would most people at Nokia).

But if you're talking about any of their new phones in the last couple years, I couldn't disagree more. 😕 Most of their recent GSM and CDMA phones are widely regarded as having excellent reception and good battery life. Especially their new CDMA phones - they get better reception than just about any other brand, including Sanyo, which is definitely saying something!

Actually, we have a huge demand for Nokias here. Many customers come up and ask "is this the only Nokia you have?" (which is currently the 3586, soon to be replaced with the 3587). That particular phone has worked where other lower-end models do not, especially in rural areas. They also rarely come back for service. So Nokia has been good to US Cellular, and I, for one, hope we get in some new models cuz the 3586 is BORING!

From what I gather, and this is not fact, but US Cellular get very old phones. VERY VERY OLD PHONES. So obviously they arent going to come back for service very often, they have all the kinks worked out already.

And in regards to Nokia as a company, please mind the track record. Granted they are getting better, but still not on par.

Umm... U.S. Cellular had the Slider, Phantom and 358x at least 2 months before Verizon.

Besides each phone manufacturer makes phones with different characteristcs, neither one is best. For me, Motorola has been a disapointment in the past, but with the new C343a and the updated T731c I have been very pleased. LG, on the other hand, has always made durable phones in my opinion. The VX6000 has been a disapointment in that catagory.

Don't be so quick to judge a phone untill you have a chance to try it out!

I am not really anti Nokia, however, their CDMA product are inferior to other manufactures. I think is is primarily because they refuse to use Qualcomm chips.

You dont think this phone was presented to the largest CDMA carrier in the US? Why do you think it has AMPS and 800 digital... for sprint?

This phone, like oh so many, simply doesnt cut the mustard when it comes down to the single most important feature... reception.

A phone can look great, have a 5 megapixel camera with xenon flash, a 17 day talk time battery, a hideaway qwerty keyboard, and weigh 3.2 ounces, but if it doesnt make and recieve calls.... dont put it on your network.

I agree with an earlier statement, Verizon needs to stay away from this nokia phone. And they will...

Partly, yes... In case you haven't noticed, Sprint carries more tri-mode phones than Verizon. That's because Sprint is more reliant on roaming coverage than Verizon - especially analog.

Besides, there's more to the world than the U.S. This phone was first announced in Brazil, and will be carried throughout Latin and South America, which is another reason it is tri-mode.

Ah, I have the 3589i w/ verizon and I'll have to say that it get's the best service of any cell phone I've seen. My friend's lg 4400 is good, but I get one bar more service everywhere. My nokia never drops calls unless I move into a No Svc area like a tunnel or building. If I have even just one bar, I can make/rcv calls and I have at least that almost everywhere. The phone features are easy to use and navigate and it can do more than most other phones I have seen. Example: I can block specific numbers from calling me. Try to do that with your LG or Samsung phones... most (some may, I dunno) don't have this feature. My phone is built like a tank and I don't have to worry about dropping it one time and it shattering. I'm looking forward...
