It will work on Cingular's network just not everywhere they have coverage. Don't worry though since Cingular has free roaming you will at least get Tmobile's coverage for sure! I have quadband phone for when I travel But I use 1900 mhz devices all the time on Cingular and I only have a problem when I travel to a more "rural" area.
