Is performance any good for ssh?

Is the 9500's performance any good for ssh sessions?

(I know there are ssh clients like putty available -- that's not what I'm asking.)

I program in Unix/Linux and need to be able to log in and do work or read email on the remote side. I'll be doing this more than I'll be using the phone for voice. I do a lot of text typing. I don't care about multimedia (mp3, camera). Hence the 9500.

But I've heard some say it's very slow, especially on WiFi -- that it uses an outdated processor that's underclocked. That web pages take minutes to load instead of seconds, even on WiFi.

Is that true? Is this machine too slow? I'm surprised its price hasn't gone down since it was introduced in the U.S. market, because except for its larger keyboard...
