I am trying to use my VX8000 as a modem, but can't seem to get the driver to be installed properly or something. I can successfully use BitPim with no problem.
I went to the LG website and downloaded and installed the USB modem driver, restarted the computer, plugged the cable into the computer, restarted the phone and everything. If I go into control panel and the add/remove programs, it lists the LG USB modem driver as properly installed and gives me the option to uninstall it. Also try right clicking on the connection, click properties, and see if your lg modem is listed there...if that doesnt help I dont know what to tell you. Hope it works out.

Hey thanks for the tip; but the phone is not being displayed anywhere. It just works with BitPim. The other thing I am wondering though, I purchased DataPilot software, and this cable came with the software in the box. There is also a small black "box" on the cable. Whenever I plug the cable in (even when the datapilot software is not installed), it says "found new hardware: susteen virtual com port". So would this cable then be a proprietary cable and not be able to be used as a modem?

Thanks for the help.

It could be, I dont really know....I got my software and cable from Mobile Action(or Action Mobile), and when I got my cable I went to LG's website and downloaded their drivers....There might be something in their drivers to make the modem work....
