I was just wondering if verizon charges for using the vx-8000 as a modem for my computer using their service (your-phone-#@vz23g.com). I do not have Vcast in my area so I would guess it would cost me my min. on my plan but do they charge for anything else like how many bytes I've sent and received?

Connect the phone to the computer with a usb cable and I went to "make a new connection", (for me where it asks if this is the modem I want to use I clicked the drop down window and one was my default modem and one was "LG Modem" so I chose Lg Modem) for the phone number put "#777", username "your-10-digit-phone-#@vz23g.com" (do not use dashs), and the password is "vzw". Hit connect and away you go, but I dont know if it cost anything. This is what I was trying to find out. I'm pretty sure that it uses mins though, but dont hold me to that. You can also use your own ISP but I dont think it connects as fast.

Have you used this lately? I gave it a try, and I manage a 230k connection but it then promptly disconnects me ☹️
