I always liked getting my phone to ring differently for specific callers. I can't believe LG would drop this function.

With all due respect to phonescoop.com, I've noticed a few feature listings for phones that are incorrect. For example, phonescoop lists the Audiovox 9500 as not having an alarm. My 9500 definitely has a distinct alarm function... I used it 4 times last week to wake up when I was on vacation.

I also believe the assignable ringers (ringer ID) function is mislabeled on the 9500 listing as well.

Rich Brome has done a great job on this site, but he's only human and the accuracy isn't perfect.

I agree that it's not perfect. Just send him an e-mail if it's wrong and he makes the change. I did it for the LG 7000 not having "call screening". ☚ī¸

😁 I work for the Verizon Wireless Port center. I called LG a few minutes ago and asked about the Ringer ID. They were shocked to hear people think it wouldnt have it. They said that it would have it as well as the picture ID just like the LG 7000. Also.....rumor at the port center has it the LG 8000 should be out around September 20.

That release date actually sounds realistic (or as realistic as a guess can get). The down side is that if they're not waiting for the xmas crowd, it will probably not be intended to replace/compete with 6000/7000, so I bet it will have a much higher price tag.

Yeah...I expect so too...Ive been thinking that when Christmas comes, both would drop a little in price, but that just what a few of here have been thinking. Havent heard anything diffent.

do they drop the actual phone value or do they just increase the rebate value?

Thery normally come out with a rebate first. the LG 7000 came out with a $70 rebate. The 8000 will most likely have the same. After a few months they'll drop in price some due to other phones that are coming out so it can stay competitive.
