When is this phone coming out?! Should I just give up waiting and get the VX 7000 instead?

I'm quite distressed right now...I can no longer live with this piece of crap, boring LG VX-10. The phone I really, truly want is the VX 8000, but I also am having problems with being impatient - so I figured I should just buy the VX 7000. But I really want the megapixel camera that comes with the 8000, as well as the speakerphone and a few other additional options it has. I know that the 7000 comes out on the 25th of this month...but I do not want to buy it and then all of a sudden the 8000 comes out.

Does anyone have any solid knowledge of when (a month or range of months would be good) the phone is coming out? I'm very close to buying the 7000, but I know in the long run i'll be dissapointed when the 8000 comes out. But, then again, I'...

some people say this phone's coming out in nov/dec, but I hear aug/sept. Either way its too many months to wait so either get the 7000 in 1 week, or the 710 in 2 1/2 weeks.

Even if it is scheduled to come out Aug./Sept. they are going to wait until Nov./Dec. and steal the holiday crowd. The will not make that mistake two years in a row. This phone is the first to have EV-DO in it. If i was VZW, I would begin to advertise that. The vast majority of the public has no idea about 1xRTT and 1xEV-DO. As soon as they hear, "and with the new 1xEV-DO technology, the downloads and messeging features are even faster!" They will all go nuts. The public, or people who know minimal about cell phones, do not bother to understand features. VZW employees give them the basic functions.

ie.--if the battery was (this never happend) a nickle hydrate battery--for those of you that do not know, nickle hydrate is less batt...

I have an LG VX-10 too, but I am waiting for the 8000 because I know I will be happy with the 7000, but when the 8000 comes out, I will be kicking myself for not waiting. I think I would like the 8000 better though since it has the megapixel camera and of course ev-do. It's definately worth the wait.

I agree completely upon how its worth the wait, but keep in mind, my guess, and I am pretty good with these, is that it will be a very large holiday phone. This and the Koi should be release around the same time for VZW in say early - late November. This will steal all the holiday buyers. VZW will not make the same holiday mistake twice. They are going to steal the market, and with these new phones coming out of the "factories", they are finally getting updated with their phones.

So I ask you, do you need all the features of the VX8000, do you simply want it to say you have it, and if your answer is Yes to either of those questions, will you wait until the holidays. My plan is up in October and I am waiting a month or two for this ...

Yes to both... I will use allot of the features on the VX-8000, especially picture and video messaging to either other verizon users or to a MoBlog. I'm also very anxious to see Video on Demand and Music on Demand services built-in to the VX-8000, assuming Verizon utilizes them. Plus, this is EV-DO. FINALLY. To me, it seems like it's worth the wait, because I too just could not pass up such an awesome phone with cutting edge technology.

But yet, even if I don't end up using many of the features, I'd be satisfied just to know i have it. I too am a tech junkie, and people look to me as being on top and ahead on all this stuff 😛

Although, I currently have an LG VX-10, which has served me well for a long time, but I think it's time to s...

you know that once the 7000 comes out in couple days, and the 710 a week or so after that (what did u think of ecko04s pics/videos/answers?), its gonna b hard for us tech junkies to wait till doomsday for the 8000 or better/sicker phones w the 7000 n 710 out there sending videos. It b hard for me for sure

Hey... you have a fantastic phone the lg vx10 which i have as well and am spoiled with its reception and outside display, dont go for the 7000 or 8000 unless they come out with a trimode version which the 7000 will most probably have... the vx10 is trimode and the 7,8000 is not so if u are in analog places the phone wont work and ull scratch ur head y till now it worked and suddenly with this ...

In my area, everywhere there is analog coverage, there is digital coverage too. I will probably keep the VX-10 in the glove compartment in case I need to call 911 and digital signal isn't available. I like the reception and outside display too, so I am hoping the reception on the VX-8000 is just as good. Also, I'm pleased with the battery life of the VX-10, although my battery is starting to lose it's charge so I need a new one.

LOL I am surprised that you still have a VX10. Gee, you missed out on the best LG phone ever...the VX4400. In any event, I wouldn't jump on either the VX7000 or the VX8000 without a bit of thought. I live in Alabama therefore I would not dream of buying an All Digital handset. I must have analog capacity in my phone i.e. a tri-mode handset. You should consider whether you need analog where you live. Here is a hint...pull up the America's Choice map on verizonwireless.com There are both red and pink shades. The red is digital and the pink is analog. If you are likely to be traveling in the pink shaded areas ever...go ahead and buy a tri-mode handset. The VX10 and VX4400 were analog handsets. The Motorola V710 will be a tri mode a...

actually the pink is not necessarily analog. The pink is the extended network which could be digital or analog on another carrier's network that has a partnership with VZW.
