LG VX-8000

my VZW rep said LG is moving heaven n earth to release both 7000 n 8000 together asap, alot sooner than orig planned. He says maybe this summer

That to me sounds like the stupidest plan for both VZW and LG. This will cut their profit by half. The 8000 will be 3 times as much as the 7000, and it cannot be released until July 30th at best. That is the projected date to implement the 1xEV-DO which the 8000 has. The 7000 should be ready before then. I doubt they will do that, they would loose too much $ like that.

its the new(er) high speed data network. 1X/Express Network is the one that is still in existence in most of the country w/speeds averaging around 100kbps... EV-DO allows for about 5-10X faster speeds, thus allowing the sending and recieving of short video clips.. unfortunatly EV-DO is only operational in San Diego and Washington DC so far... hopefully the rest of the country is soon since they are planning on releasing these video sending/recieving capable phones soon. : )
