I don't believe that is true. A true auto-focus lens involves a small motor or actuator to move the lens, and significant processing power to determine correct focus. I'm not aware of any phones outside of Japan with that capability.

Well the sprint pcs link above states that the Toshiba 4050 does infact have an auto-focus lens. For example, if I move from an object to a moniter screen, the phone's camera will focus itself to "see" the images on the moniter screen. A non-aut-focus lens would just see a bright light from the moniter.
