It could be as simple as the "RAZRBerry" and RAZR v4 are coming down the pipe. Motorola is trying to build customer loyalty. Releasing an obviously troubled product will not accomplish this goal. One other thing, to be competitive with the x-mas phones this year, it will need to be able to do VoIP. (The RAZR v4 is supposed to have Scype. Call NZ by routing your call via your 802.11b/g for only 0.06 a minute.) If the phone came out today, it would last about 3 months in the market before it would be obsolete. It would probably never recover the cost of its production run.
