Why keep the release date under wraps?

I'm going to buy a different phone if they (Sprint with their 550 and Moto with the MPx) don't let me know if this phone is coming out in the near future or not.

I would be willing to bet others are in the same boat as me, willing to wait, unless that wait continues to be indefinite...

This phone was announced in February, and from day one they said it wouldn't be available until the end of the year. They're sticking to that - that's exactly when it will be available. There's no delay, and the release date has been communicated since the day it was announced.

So.... tell me the "release
    date
      " then.

I don't know about you but 'end of the year' isn't very "exact"!

In this industry, delays are the norm and release dates are never set in stone, so... since it's already December, I think "end of year" is actually pretty specific. 😉

Just out of curiosity, Rich Brome, do you work for Motorola? Or affiliated with them in any way?

You seem pretty defensive...

No. I run this site. I work for myself.

It will actually release in the US next year. Sometime, hopefully, within the first couple months.

Have you heard if they are going to try to keep it under $500?
