I just bought my MPx220 today and I have no clue how to get the MP3's to play. I can play them with my media player but when I try to preview them as a ringtone the just click once??? Any help will be greatly appreciated

did you copy and paste the .wav files from your pc to the mpx220 via active sync?

If so, you have to make sure you place a copy of that file in your ringtones folder.

When downloading directly from Cingular, it will self install. Actually, I've never even played mp3 through windows media player.

the mp3s aren't all that great for ringtones, b/c they play much softer than polyphonic.

You need to put the mp3 file or wav file into the \Storage\Application Data\Sounds folder of your phone through activesync. You just hit explore and go to the folder and then in your phone go under Start\Settings\Sounds and you can choose your mp3 for a ringtone. I recommend that you increase the volume of the mp3 with an audio program before and you can save it to a lesser file size by going mono and 22,000 instead of 44,000. I also use some as wav files and have better luck with a louder sound, you will just have to play around with it.
