Forgive me please but I am still a little new here.

I'm not sure I know the deal with "smartphones". Obviously they have different operating systems (most seem to be windows mobile if they can swing it) but really what's the huge deal? It almost looks like these guys are PDA's with a phone built in. Granted it's really cool to have a fully functioning computer in your pocket, but I'm not sure I need or want an electronic swiss army knife.

Aside from the OS and a few pieces of better equipment (like megapixel camera) what makes this better than say the a630 I'm waitin for?

The biggest advantage any phone has that runs Microsoft's Windows Mobile OS is the extreme ease in which your PIM data syncrronizes with the phone. And you're not limited to just 3 or four phone numbers per contact......multiple phone numbers, physical and email addresses, along with calendar appointments, to do lists, email, etc. etc.

Yes, other phones can do some of that, but not as easily or completely as the Windows Mobile OS phones.

The MPx220 is extra unique because of supporting Bluetooth, 1.3 MP camera, AND quad band GSM (not many phones have that last feature, windows mobile or not).

This is the phone to be IMHO. For those interested that haven't already seen it, check out a video and user manual for the MPx220 here: http:/...

I have good service with Motorola. I still buy their products with no problem. It really makes it easy on me for accessories being that I can keep my same car charger, travel charger, and desktop charger. All I buy is a new case or holster if one is not provided.

I tried the MPX 200 and it had glitches. Yet, that hasn't discouraged me from purchasing future Motorola products. I'm currently using a Moto wireless phone.
