Mini SD card

When empty my 512 MB Mini SD card only shows 409 MB Free space. There is nothing on the card also no hidden files. Why does the full 512 MB (or 483 MB) not become available 😕

I solved my own problem by formatting the MiniSd card. Using its carrier I inserted the card in my HP printer and did the formatting using my connected PC 😁
