Motorola MPx220
MPX220 - 1.43 or 1.47 ROM
Anyone using this phone and can comment on the quality of these ROMs? I know Cingular had a lot of issues and pulled it, but I am wondering if the new ROMs fix anything.

I run 1.47 and it's very solid for what I am doing. It is almost too loud on Outdoor setting. I do not have data setup so I cannot comment on that.
I ran into some issues with beaming the ringtone over bluetooth, but I am not sure whether it was my fault anyway.
The reason I upgrated to 1.47 was that my mp3 rings sounded very distorted on 1.43 and I had synch issues.
1.47 seems to have no problem with playing any media nor does it mind synching.

I flashed my MPX220 to 1.47 last night. This is an international version and you will have to set the unit to U.S. date/currency, etc format. Menu arrangement is a bit different and will take you a few mins to get familarized with it.
Positives: 1) reception seems better (no worse) even when going under a bridge that normally messed up reception before, 2) my cousin always commented negatively on the unit picking up road/car noise but today said he could only hear a tiny bit of background noise, so that's got to be an improvement.
Negatives: 1) Voice Dial (speech Recognition) prompts are in British English (sucks!), program has a bit of a problem understanding U.S. English pronunciation and also repeats names back in that accent and th...
