Motorola MPx220
Is firmware 1.43 (Cingular) the official release?
I myself have upgraded my MPX220 with firmware ver 1.43 for Motorola and enjoy the improvements. However since all has been quiet with Moto and Cingular I am wondering if this is only an interim release version and if another more improved version will be the "official release" when it is finally announced.

It's probably the latest RELEASED version. I just got an UNLOCKED BLACK MOTO MPX220 from eBay and the version is:1.470.0.0

Reg'd your version 1.470.0.0 phone, do you have any comments about this version? Is there a Cingular Home Screen option available (start-4-HomeScreenLlayout)? I am assuming your service provider is Cingular/AT&T?

I have read alot of NEGATIVE comments prior to buying this phone but, decided to do it anyway and have expierenced no problems thus far. My particular phone is an unbranded(unlocked) phone, I don't have any annoying Cingular logos plastered all over the phone. I had to manually set up my internet access though because the phone was not Cingular branded. Im not sure if I answered your questions or not, I don't have an opinion on the software because I never had to use any of the previous versions.

Does the Firmware Ver. 1.47 allow you to use speaker phone option when closed? Also is the ring tone volume better? Any info will be great. Thanks

I have never had any other software version so it's really hard for me to compare. I have not used the speakerphone yet and ringtones DO sound a little weak.

Ringtone volume is adjustable. In my 1.43 its done though start-settings-profile----then highlight "normal" hit the "menu" key - edit...and adjust ring volume. I have mine set at 4 and that's plenty loud for my ring tone, with one more louder option.

I forgot that I had this thread running, I just posted the question about 1.470 being the newest firware or NOT? I have no real complants with this firmware version thus far.
